We traveled from Hampton, VA to Deltaville, VA on the morning of May 8 as a brief stopover before our 3-day visit to Solomons Island, MD. This trip marks our first extended cruise since touring the Chesapeake Bay last summer and we quickly settled in to shaking off some of the rust. The winds and waves were light as we traveled north up the western coast of the Chesapeake Bay, and we proceeded at a brisk pace to avoid rougher weather forecast for the late afternoon. We noted a few lighthouses while traveling up the coast that served as nostalgic reminder of seafaring days past.
