We traveled from Cambridge to Annapolis…

We had a great transit from Cambridge to Annapolis! The water was calm with very little wind. The one exciting moment was when we crossed a cargo ship’s wake! After passing the ship, we noticed white-caps in the distance. A bit later, running parallel to another boat, we watched as it practically flew into the air going over the wake. Gerry quickly ran down to move the flatscreen TV to the bed and I turned us into the wake! Our bow came up and smacked down several times. We “rang the bell” maneuvering and decided we’d be better off next time taking the waves at a diagonal than head-on!

Day 2- Crazy highs and lows today! We learned that our Canadian boat neighbors (also doing The Loop) could not get onto the Naval Academy grounds after we offered to sponsor them. New rules: no foreign nationals allowed on campus at all! I felt saddened and ashamed – crazy world we are living in right now. Our “high” was being able to re-create the Ring Dance tradition 40 years later! Today, we picked up Gerry’s USNA ring with a new stone in it. Tonight, we had our picture taken dipping the ring into the Binnacle of the 7 Seas just like we did in 1985!
